Quick-fire Q&A with KATIE PIPER

Katie Piper is a charity campaigner, TV presenter, author and mother, so it’s safe to say that she’s a very busy woman (we were exhausted just listing those roles!) Luckily for us however, she managed to fit a little quick-fire Q&A with the Bookends team into her busy schedule, so we suggest you pour yourself a cup of tea, put your feet up for five minutes and get to know this truly inspirational woman a little bit better…

If I had to go back in time and choose another career…

I would like to be a plastic surgeon- I find it fascinating the healing powers of the human body and what can be done to restore someone after trauma.

My dream holiday destination…

I would love to go Barbados!

If I were to be stranded on a desert island, my one luxury item would be…

My eye drops – can’t live without them!! Oh and maybe my phone so I could go on Twitter!

My most memorable meal…

Sushi – I went to a Japanese’s restaurant for one of my birthdays and ate a little bit of everything on the menu, my favourite way to eat – small plates but lots of them.

The last song I listened to… OR The first album I ever bought…

Michael Jackson’s Bad was the first album, but I actually borrowed it from the library and then recorded it onto a blank tape!

The book I’ve read the most times…

The Bible

My guilty pleasure…

Gin and Tonic

The item I have more of than anything else…

Clothes!!

The last time I went to the cinema…

I had to leave half way through as I was pregnant and Belle kept playing football in my stomach, so that was over 2 years ago now!

The thing I could never give up…

My job! I will never retire, I love working.

My choice of superpower…

To be able to heal people from illness.

The book (by another author) that I wish I had written…

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

If I could pick any actress to play my latest lead character…

Helen Mirren!

The one piece of advice I would give my teenage self…

Worrying is a total waste of time! It just steals your joy and keeps you very busy doing absolutely nothing at all, so stop worrying!

If I had to choose between appearing on Strictly Come Dancing or X Factor…

I can’t sing and I can’t dance so not sure either would have me!!!

If I want to relax…

I go on Instagram, I’m hooked!

The person I call when I need cheering up…

My fiancé

If I had to re-build my house with either gingerbread or chocolate…

It couldn’t be chocolate as I would just eat it all and my house would fall down.

My favourite cookbook…

The Clandestine Cake Club: A Year of Cake by Lynn Hill

The best thing about being a writer…

Being able to connect with people you have never met and use experiences in your live to spread help and happiness to others lives.
