Recipes for a Royal Wedding Weekend

Here at Team Bookends, we’re counting down the days (and minutes, and seconds…) until Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

Whether you’ll be spending the day toasting the newlyweds at a street party, or camped out in front of the TV hoping to catch a glimpse of Meghan’s dress – these bakes are the perfect way to add a touch of British royal festivity to your weekend.

First up, what royalty-inspired baking round-up would be complete without a contribution from the Queen of Cakes herself?

Mary Berry’s new book, Fast Cakes, is full to the brim with tasty baked goods fit for a princess-to-be – but our favourite is her Classic Special Scones recipe, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Next up – no street party would be complete without sunshine, Union Jack bunting, and a plate off homemade sausage rolls. Kirstie Allsopp’s version, from her wonderful book Kirstie’s Real Kitchen, are perfect for picnics and parties alike.

And if you’re looking for a veggie option, Deliciously Ella‘s Aubergine and Tomato Pesto Rolls provide a delicious vegetarian twist on a Great British classic – we bet animal-lover Meghan Markle would approve!
