The Bookends Festive Q&A: The Finale!

We hope you have enjoyed our Bookends Festive Q&A this December. Our last blog post asks our authors, which books are at the top of your wish list for 2021?

Joanna Bolouri, author of All I Want For Christmas

I think Mhairi McFarlane has a new one coming out as does Stephen King, although he has a new book out every seventeen seconds so that’s not surprising. The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey also looks intriguing. I’m open to recommendations please!

Lizzie O’Hagan, author of What Are Friends For?

I cannot wait to read Perfect Sound Whatever by James Acaster after I heard him on Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail Podcast. It was around this time last year that my big brother introduced me to his Netflix special and there was something about hearing about the vulnerable man behind all the whimsical jokes on Elizabeth’s podcast that I found really compelling. Glorious Rock Bottom by Bryony Gordon is also on the list as Mad Girl helped me understand mental health in a whole new way (and I have friends who are recovering alcoholics, something that fed into the storyline of Eve’s family in What Are Friend’s For?, so I’m always looking to understand more). Fiction wise, I am curious to read Dolly Alderton’s Ghosts, can’t wait to get my hands on The Confession by Jessie Burton, still need to read Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo and always enjoy a Jodie Picoult read so can expect to find The Book Of Two Ways in my stocking!

Check out the first post in the series to find out more festive facts from these fabulous authors!
