The Bookends Picnic 2020 | Three authors reveal their ultimate 2020 holiday destinations…

Summer has crept up on us very fast, and it goes without saying that holidays won’t be quite the same this year. But we can dream, can’t we? Today we’re jet-setting in our minds with three of our favourite authors, asking them: if you could go anywhere in the world on holiday this summer, where would it be?

Sarah Steele, author of The Missing Pieces of Nancy Moon

Imagining a world in which we could still happily travel anywhere, I would go to Cuba like a shot. The music, the colours, the architecture, the literary heritage … and the daquiris, of course!

VB Grey, author of Tell Me How It Ends

The Isle of Rum. Although my great-grandfather came from there, and I always love the wildness of mountains meeting the sea, I have yet to visit any of the Scottish islands. Time to see my ‘come-froms’.

Sophie Claire, author of A Forget-Me-Not Summer

Ooh. I’m tempted to choose somewhere really exotic like the Caribbean or Australia, but actually I’m longing to return to Provence and do more research for my next book.
